U.S. POSTAGE STAMPS INCREASE 1 CENT ON 1/27/13; NOW 46 CENTS

U.S. postage stamps will see an increase of 1 cent beginning 1/27/13.  The new cost to mail a letter will rise to 46 cents going forward.  In recent years the United States Postal Service has been in financial trouble, due in part, to heightened internet use.  When was the last time you actually mailed in a bill?  Well, most now use free online services to pay them, hence less revenue for the Post Office.

If you are planning on mailing a special Valentine’s Day card…don’t forget to add the penny.  Or your loved one may just think you forgot!
